Image eve 2013

Mo 15th to Friday 19th of april 2013

The study trip 2013 brings us to Manchester and Liverpool in the UK. One could qualify Manchester as the first industrial city of the world like F. Engels wrote it in The conditions of the working-class in England, 1844. One could says about Liverpool that it has been one of the first harbour prefiguring a globalized world based on exchanges of goods, people, values and services. Both were economically devasted in the 70's - 80's and have developped during the last 3 decades into white collar and cultural cities. In that sense  Manchester and Liverpool are paradigmatic for the changes of the european second-range-city-network. The topic of the trip is to draw in a very short time what Manchester and Liverpool are and how they could be locally transformed.
