Beis Hurni is an architect and partner at the Fritschi Beis office in Bern. In the spring semesters of 2026 and 2027, he will lead the « Cooperative Architecture of the Open City » studio in the Joint Master of Architecture Biel/Bienne programme.
During and after his architecture studies at ETH Zurich, Beis Hurni worked for Peter Eisenman in New York, Matti Ragaz Hitz in Bern and Anne Holtrop in Amsterdam. He then worked as a research assistant at ETH Zurich under Josep Lluís Mateo and at Bern University of Applied Sciences. Since 2013, he has run the Fritschi Beis architecture firm in Bern together with Jonas Fritschi. The firm has made a name for itself through numerous competition successes and outstanding projects, such as the Holliger U1 family residential building in the Warmbächliareal.
