AI Augmented Perception: Unveiling the Hidden Dimensions of Space [EN]

Barcelona Pavilion, Study Drawing by Paul Rudolph 1986

Description

Within this course we will explore the innovative field of AI Augmented Perception, an interdisciplinary approach that combines artificial intelligence, computer vision, and spatial analysis. Students will be introduced to cutting-edge techniques for observing and interpreting spaces through AI-enhanced senses, with a focus on identifying and capturing the otherwise invisible or overlooked qualities inherent to space. This course promises to challenge conventional perceptions and inspire students to explore the hidden depths of the world around us.

learnings

Through theoretical studies and practical applications, the course explores ways to make the invisible visible, offering a novel approach to understanding and interpreting spatial information.

This studies will help the students to develop intuition and understanding of the relationship between design and its influence on the senses of the user of the space.

Form

We will use machine learning to find patterns in acoustics and visual content of the existing architectural spaces. The visual content will be done by GPT-4 based vision models or semantic segmentation.
