Le sujet de semestre porte sur les infrastructures et lieux liés à l’exploitation du chemin de fer. Les étudiant·e·s sont amené·e·s à porter un regard analytique sur les espaces urbains dédiés aux trains et à leurs rapports avec le reste de la ville et du territoire.

Du relevé et de l’analyse du site ainsi identifié découleront la définition d’une thématique et sa documentation au moyen d’une restitution graphique.

Ce cours explore la notion d’image complexe, entendue comme une figuration croisant plusieurs techniques, expérimentant des projections non conventionnelles ou hybridant différents points de vue et échelles. Il s’appuie sur l’analyse d’un corpus étendu d’images issues de périodes diverses (Renaissance, XIXᵉ siècle, Mouvement moderne, après-guerre et, surtout, période contemporaine) afin de construire des éléments de théorie.

The semester subject focuses on the infrastructures and places linked to railway operation. Students are invited to take an analytical look at the urban spaces dedicated to trains and at their relationship with the rest of the city and the territory.

The survey and analysis of the site thus identified will lead to the definition of a theme and its documentation by means of a graphic restitution.

This course explores the notion of the complex image, understood as a figuration crossing several techniques, experimenting with unconventional projections or hybridising different points of view and scales. It draws on the analysis of an extensive corpus of images from various periods (the Renaissance, the nineteenth century, the Modern Movement, the post-war years and, above all, the contemporary period) in order to construct elements of theory.

Cours théoriques

Exercice pratique consistant à:

• rechercher un site dans la région genevoise ;
• analyser le site ;
• définir une thématique ;
• réaliser une image complexe issue de l’analyse, fusionnant photographie de maquette et dessin au trait.
